To your next big leap
Ten years ago, I took a leap. I left a stable and successful career in Big Law to pursue the truly human craft of coaching. Building from a college assignment many years prior, I named the practice Parachute signaling the qualities I hoped to embody, and inspire in others, through this work: open, adventurous, colorful.
At the time, I wasn’t sure what shape Parachute would take. I just knew I wanted to help people find their way forward—toward leadership that felt empowered, careers that felt aligned, and lives that felt more fully their own. I wanted to create a space where people could explore big questions, navigate meaningful transitions, and lead with greater clarity and confidence.
Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside countless individuals—leaders, dreamers, skeptics, and seekers—as they navigated their own career journeys. I’ve witnessed bold leaps, quiet courage, and transformative growth. And in doing so, I’ve grown too. I continue to be struck by the value of asking better questions as opposed to trying to have all the answers.
Through Parachute, I’ve had the honor of partnering with you for many tough decisions and hard days. I’ve celebrated with you as you’ve taken your own risks and experienced exhilarating wins. You’ve trusted yourselves when the path felt anything but clear. You’ve chosen courage over comfort, and opportunity over certainty. Of late, the broader social and political landscape has added new layers of uncertainty, especially for those in public service. The questions are deeper, the stakes are even higher, and the need for grounded, thoughtful leadership has never been more urgent.
Yet, even in uncertainty, there’s opportunity. To pause. To recalibrate. To lead from our values. To choose your bravest path.
So today, I’m celebrating not just the anniversary, but the people, the stories, the bold steps, and the colorful, open-hearted trust that allows a parachute—and a person—to truly unfold.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether we’ve worked together, crossed paths, or simply stayed connected, I’m so glad you’re here.
Here’s to your next leap!
